Learn the biology of beer at Arizona Science Center

PHOENIX -

When we talk about the Arizona Science Center, it’s usually about new things for kids and teens to do. But Friday, it’s adults only.

The center is hosting “The Biology of Beer” event, and of course they’ll have beer tasting too.

How would you like to learn the history and the science behind one of your favorite drinks?

Friday night the Arizona Science Center will be booting the kids out and bringing in the adults to talk the biology of beer.

We were able to secure the cofounder of Borderland Brewing in Tucson Arizona to give a talk about the beer brewing process,” says Ashley Carter, Arizona Science Center.

About 300 people are expected to show up, and along with the science of beer, you can plan on a big beer tasting.

“Rock Bottom, Gordon Biersch and Borderlands Brewing, they’ll all be talking about their beers and the different processes they take to make their beer unique,” says Carter.

Beer has been around for about 5,000 years, so there’s a lot to learn and a lot of fun to be had.

It all starts at 7.

“It’s not you’re just slamming them back, you’re getting a little bit of education which is what the science center is all about.”

Tickets are still available — $19 for non-members and $17 for members, and that includes 10 sampling tickets.
